Phnom penh: To respond to the growth of the food industry and rising export demands, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), through the Cambodia-Korea Food Processing TASK Centre (FTC) project, organised a training session on "Food Safety and Hygiene."
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. HONG Rada, Under Secretary of State and Project Leader of the FTC, emphasized at the opening ceremony that ensuring food safety is the fundamental basis for protecting public health and building confidence among both domestic and international consumers.
Key topics covered in the training included food standards, safety, and product labelling; developing Cambodian food products in compliance with safety and quality standards; enhancing food quality and safety through pilot-plant processing technology; and food preservatives: functions, benefits, and health impacts.
Dr. Kim Young Chan, Korean Project Manager, also encouraged all enterprise owners to utilise the equipment and seek technical consultation at the FTC centre to transform the knowledge into practical application.
