Ho Chi Minh City:Phnom Penh Municipal Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng met with H.E. Tran Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of their sister-city relationship and the 59th anniversary of Cambodia-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting occurred on October 5 during H.E. Khuong Sreng's two-day official visit to Vietnam. The visit included signing a memorandum of understanding with the Ho Chi Minh City High Command for a construction project on the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship School.
During the meeting, H.E. Khuong Sreng conveyed congratulations on the anniversaries and acknowledged the warm hospitality from Ho Chi Minh City. He praised the city's development and highlighted Phnom Penh's progress under Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, attributed to the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 and peace from the Win-Win Policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
H.E. Tran Van Bay discussed Ho Chi Minh City's economic and tourism growth and challenges such as traffic congestion, flooding, environmental pollution, and drug issues. He extended an invitation to H.E. Khuong Sreng for the 2026 Autumn Economic Forum, themed 'Cooperation in the New Era', to be held from October 26 to 29, 2026, with over 1,500 participants expected.
