Phnom penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has urged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to integrate digital technology into their operations to boost product quality, enhance business management, elevate consumer confidence, and increase competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in his message for the 3rd National Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on June 27, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of supporting local products as a key driver of the national economy. He stressed that while the Royal Government, citizens, and development partners play crucial roles, enterprises must also evolve alongside technological advancements.
Samdech Thipadei pointed out that crucial factors such as improving product and service quality, refining packaging, building brands, and employing professional business management, along with digital technology, can facilitate production, marketing, and business data analysis. These elements are essential for bolstering productivity and enabling Cambodian products to compete more effectively on the global stage.
The message underscored that in the current digital economy, modern technology can aid enterprises in reducing costs, enhancing production efficiency, improving service quality, and responding more rapidly to customer needs. This technological integration forms the foundation for expanding markets both within Cambodia and abroad.
Moreover, Samdech Thipadei urged MSMEs to focus on legality, compliance, and the implementation of the national quality infrastructure system, which encompasses standards, regulations, conformity assessments, and national laboratories. These measures are necessary to ensure quality and foster greater market confidence in Cambodian products.
The Prime Minister stressed that the synergy of supporting local products and adopting new technologies will enable Cambodian enterprises to heighten their competitiveness, create employment opportunities, boost income, and decrease reliance on imports, all while fostering robust and sustainable economic development.
Additionally, the Royal Government has continued to implement numerous support mechanisms for MSMEs. These initiatives include promoting digitalisation, facilitating financing, developing skills, and cultivating a business ecosystem that empowers enterprises to use modern technology as a tool for increasing added value and advancing 'Made in Cambodia' products in the global market, as highlighted by the Prime Minister.
