Samdech Khuon Sudary Offers Condolences to Sri Lankan Counterpart

Phnom penh: President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, has extended a message of condolence to Honourable Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, Speaker of the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, expressing sorrow over the tragic loss of lives due to recent flooding and landslides.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Khuon Sudary conveyed her deep grief concerning the natural disasters, which were triggered by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka. These events have resulted in the unfortunate loss of lives, displacement of thousands of families, and numerous injuries and missing persons, alongside significant damage to properties.

In her message, Samdech Khuon Sudary stated, 'On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Honourable Speaker, and through you, to the bereaved families for the loss of their loved ones and the victims of the families severely affected by these natural disasters.'

She further expressed solidarity with the Sri Lankan people and government during this challenging period, wishing all victims and affected communities a swift recovery and a return to normalcy.
