Kampot: Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has called on Cambodia's salt producers to ensure a stable supply while prioritizing public health initiatives. This includes the production of iodized salt to combat iodine deficiency disorders and enhance consumers' well-being.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Techo delivered these remarks during a meeting at Kampot Provincial Hall, attended by 1,182 officials from various levels of government, including provincial, municipal, district, commune, and Sangkat council members, as well as leaders from Kampot and Kep provinces. He emphasized the critical role of these provinces in Cambodia's salt production, urging authorities to promote awareness among salt producers about the importance of quality maintenance and public health protection.
In his address, Samdech Techo commended the civil servants of Kampot and Kep for their dedication to public service and maintaining social stability. He urged officials, especially those at the commune and Sangkat levels, to uphold integrity and efficiency in their service delivery.
Furthermore, Samdech Techo called on authorities to expedite the issuance of land titles to minimize disputes and dissatisfaction at the grassroots level. He also highlighted the importance of supporting the families of frontline soldiers, disabled veterans, and fallen soldiers through regular visits and educational and vocational support for their children.
In addition, he encouraged local authorities to collaborate on protecting natural resources and preventing environmental degradation. He reminded officials of their duty as 'loyal servants of the people,' and advocated for stronger border cooperation with Vietnam to enhance relations between the two nations.
Kep Provincial Governor H.E. Som Piseth noted the province's long-standing development history, with primary activities in agriculture, fishing, salt production, and tourism. Kampot Provincial Governor H.E. Mao Thonin emphasized Kampot's potential in agriculture, commerce, industry, and tourism. He noted the significant contributions of the province's major ports, cement factories, and hydropower plants to regional economic growth.
