Phnom penh: Cambodia's Senior Minister H.E. Kitti Sangahapundit Kun Kim visited displacement sites in Banteay Meanchey province on Monday, calling for the "timely delivery" of aid to civilians fleeing recent fighting along the border.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Kun Kim, who serves as First Vice-President of the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), inspected safety centres to assess ground needs and coordinate relief logistics. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that all citizens receive food, shelter, and basic services during the ongoing crisis. Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has instructed all ministries to mobilize maximum resources for aid delivery.
The visit is part of a broader effort to implement new mobile shelters for displaced families, providing protection from wind and rain. H.E. Kun Kim urged provincial officials to improve oversight of food and water distribution to ensure comprehensive coverage across all centres.
He highlighted the steady flow of emergency supplies, attributing it to contributions from top leadership figures, including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, alongside private donors.
H.E. Kun Kim is scheduled to visit safety centres in other border provinces to ensure that disaster management systems are effectively assisting those forced to flee their homes.
