Phnom Penh:The 2026 U.S. Higher Education Fair took place in Cambodia, featuring participation from 13 leading U.S. universities and colleges. The event aimed to provide prospective students with information on academic programs, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the fair was organized by the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia and EducationUSA. It was attended by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, who praised the initiative for guiding young Cambodians in exploring educational opportunities in the United States.
Dr. Hang Chuon Naron noted the increasing number of Cambodian students pursuing higher education in the U.S., reflecting a growing interest in the American education system. He expressed gratitude to the U.S. Embassy and EducationUSA for hosting the event and emphasized that investing in education is crucial for the nation's future.
He also highlighted that U.S. higher education institutions are known for cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron advised students and parents to make informed decisions by considering factors beyond institutional prestige, such as personal goals, interests, and learning styles.
