University of Health Sciences Celebrates 80th Anniversary with First Lady’s Call for Excellence

Phnom Penh:The First Lady of Cambodia, Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, presided over the opening ceremony of the Scientific Conference at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Tuesday morning. The event marked the 80th anniversary of the institution's founding.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Dr. Pich Chanmony extended her congratulations on this significant milestone and acknowledged UHS's esteemed history as a premier educational establishment responsible for training the country's medical professionals, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses.

She commended the leadership, faculty, healthcare staff, alumni, and partners for their contributions to maintaining the university's standing as a crucial center for health sector human resources in Cambodia.

Dr. Pich Chanmony highlighted that many UHS graduates are currently active in hospitals and public institutions nationwide, contributing significantly to saving lives and enhancing public welfare. She referenced the vision of Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, emphasizing that a healthy population is a vital national asset.

Looking to the future, the First Lady expressed optimism that UHS will continue to pursue excellence, innovation, and integrity, underpinned by compassion and a commitment to national service, over the next 80 years.
