Acting Head of State Receives Longtime Vietnamese Friend at Cambodian Senate

Phnom penh: Cambodian Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received H.E. Pham Van Tra, former Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and former Minister of Defence of Vietnam, at the Senate this morning.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate, stated that Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed H.E. Pham Van Tra and recalled his contributions to the mission to liberate Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, along with many shared memories.

On the occasion, H.E. Pham Van Tra expressed his pleasure at meeting Samdech Techo again after a decade. He mentioned that his visit to Cambodia had two main purposes: to reunite with Samdech Techo, a longtime friend with whom he had shared struggles and cooperation in the past, and to revisit places that hold significant memories, particularly those related to the joint efforts in liberating Cambodia from the genocidal regime.

Following the meeting, Samdech Techo hosted a luncheon for H.E. Pham Van Tra in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
