Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on Monday met with H.E. Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, at the Peace Palace to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Azerbaijan.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Elchin Amirbayov emphasized that Azerbaijan views Cambodia as a significant partner in bilateral relations, appreciating the progress in cooperation, especially between their legislative and executive institutions. Azerbaijan is exploring new avenues to expand cooperation, focusing on potential sectors such as private-sector partnerships and enhanced economic and trade collaboration.
H.E. Elchin Amirbayov also extended an invitation from the President of Azerbaijan to Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to attend the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which will take place in Azerbaijan later this year.
Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral relationship, highlighting that the strengthening friendship between Cambodia and Azerbaijan offers valuable opportunities for further cooperation. He noted the vast potential for collaboration in various sectors for mutual benefit and reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to diversifying international partnerships.
The discussions also covered enhancing cooperation in politics, economy, trade, energy, tourism, culture, education, and agriculture. Both parties exchanged views on promoting private-sector engagement through business forums and business-to-business meetings to explore investment opportunities and increase bilateral trade.
