Cambodia Generates Nearly US$4 Billion from Tourism in 2025

Phnom penh: Cambodia welcomed a total of 5.57 million international tourists in 2025, generating approximately US$3,878 million in revenue, according to official tourism indicators and statistics recently released by the Ministry of Tourism.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the figures show a 16.9 percent decrease in the number of foreign visitors compared to the previous year, while tourism revenue increased by 6.6 percent. Tourism revenue accounted for 9.8 percent of Cambodia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Meanwhile, the Kingdom recorded 25.16 million domestic tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.7 percent. In contrast, outbound Cambodian tourists declined by 26.4 percent to 1.36 million.

The tourism sector currently provides direct employment to around 420,000 people, including 6,605 licensed tour guides. As of 2025, Cambodia had 95,588 accommodation rooms, 2,301 restaurants, 52 tourism resorts, 129 community-based tourism sites, 55 sports tourism locations, and 584 adult entertainment venues nationwide.
