Cambodia, U.S. Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Phnom penh: H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), received a U.S. delegation led by Mr. Benjamin Chiang, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia. The meeting focused on developing cooperation plans aimed at enhancing socio-economic development in Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the role played by the U.S. President in promoting peace. He also expressed satisfaction with the growth of bilateral trade, highlighting the Reciprocal Trade Agreement signed on October 26, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Mr. Benjamin Chiang expressed his condolences for the loss of life among Cambodian soldiers and civilians due to the ongoing border conflict with Thailand. He also emphasized the importance of the partnership, noting Cambodia's role as one of the first two countries in the region to sign the Reciprocal Trade Agreement with the U.S., signaling positive future cooperation.

Both parties committed to promoting and enhancing their strategic partnership through development programs that benefit both nations.
