DPM PRAK Sokhonn to Attend 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie in Rwanda

Kigali: Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will attend the 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie (46th CMF), scheduled for Nov. 19-20, 2025, in Kigali, Republic of Rwanda.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the participation will be made at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Jean-No«l BARROT, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, and H.E. Mr. Olivier J.P. NDUHUNGIREHE, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda. The conference, under the theme "Thirty Years after the Beijing Conference: The Contribution of Women in the Francophone Countries", will offer an opportunity for Ministers of member states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), along with other participants, to discuss issues related to the status of women in Francophone countries and to reaffirm commitments from the 19th Francophonie Summit in 2024.

As the host of the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, Cambodia plans to use the 46th CMF to share relevant information with delegates regarding preparations for the upcoming Summit. On the sidelines, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn will hold bilateral meetings with the Secretary General of the OIF and foreign counterparts from OIF member countries to enhance bilateral relations.

On Nov. 18, 2025, preceding the 46th CMF, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn will make an official visit to the Republic of Rwanda, invited by H.E. Mr. Olivier J.P. NDUHUNGIREHE. During this visit, a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Ministries is expected to be signed, marking a step toward strengthening friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Rwanda.
