Phnom penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron met with a delegation from Japan's Achievement Co., Ltd., led by its President Mr. Satoshi Aoki, with coordination support from School Aid Japan (SAJ). The meeting was attended by senior ministry officials and focused on strengthening cooperation to support education and human resource development in Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Satoshi Aoki introduced Achievement Co., Ltd., established in 1987 as a leading institution in Japan specializing in human resource development, leadership education, and management consulting. He highlighted the company's active contributions to Cambodia since 2018, including its support for SAJ in constructing schools and improving education infrastructure in rural areas.
Achievement has also been involved in initiatives such as establishing school libraries, donating books to SAJ's orphanage library, continuing school building construction, and cooperating with Cambodian higher education institutions to enhance international employment opportunities for Cambodian engineers in Japan. With the recent opening of a branch office in Phnom Penh, Mr. Aoki expressed the company's intention to deepen its support for Cambodia's education sector and better understand the Ministry's priorities and vision for future cooperation in human capital development.
In response, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed appreciation to the Japanese side for its longstanding contributions to education development in Cambodia. He commended the efforts of SAJ and Achievement in building educational facilities, particularly in rural and remote areas. The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the company's plans to establish libraries and support initiatives aimed at improving education quality in Cambodia.
He also outlined the Ministry's priorities, including promoting STEM education, digital skills, strengthening teacher quality, and enhancing school leadership capacity. H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron further emphasized the importance of developing soft skills, leadership, mindset transformation, and workplace culture. He proposed potential cooperation on advanced leadership training programs for universities and teacher training support through Cambodia's teacher education institutions. The Deputy Prime Minister also praised Achievement's investment in Cambodia and welcomed the sharing of its expertise and successful practices to contribute to strengthening human resources and advancing Cambodia's education sector.
