As of December 2022, a total of 6,109 associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have deposited relevant documents and registered at the Ministry of Interior.
The figure was shared here yesterday by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng while presiding over the 5th Forum on Partnership between the Royal Government and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
Of the total number, 2,623 are associations and the rest, 3,486 are NGOs, added Samdech Sar Kheng.
Samdech Sar Kheng spoke highly of the contribution of CSOs in the national development and the Royal Government’s reform programme, especially in enhancing good governance, human rights, judicial system, education, health, natural resources and environment.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that they have conducted their activities at localities without restraint with the collaboration from local authorities.
